Our streams and rivers again carry largely clean water. However, this alone does not constitute a good water body.

In the future, we'll need water bodies and meads,

that purify and regenerate themselves,
in which numerous animal and plant species live,
where trout and salmon can once again find nurseries,
which serve flood protection in a natural way.

Since 1995, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate has been implementing the "Aktion Blau Plus" for this purpose. In the renaturation of water bodies, municipal development, monument conservation, agriculture, nature conservation and environmental education are interlinked. In addition, people on the ground are increasingly involved.
